Durham Farms was built in spring 2016 and is now a premier living location in the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville. With a picturesque location on Drake’s Creek Road and only 1 mile north of the Indian Lake Shopping Center, this new housing development has a lot to offer its residents.
Since opening in 2016, Durham Farms has sold 91 homes, has 35 homes occupied and has begun construction on an amenity center which will open in late October. The amenity center, also known as The Farmhouse, will have a café called The Hub which will offer free Wi-Fi and various food options like sandwiches, drinks, salads and more. The Farmhouse will also have a resort-style pool, splash pad, a “tot lot” and a 2,500-square-foot fitness center.
Along with the construction of the amenity center, the community is continuously building new homes. Durham Farms sits on 472 acres and will eventually hold a total of 1,090 homes. The current developers are Celebration Homes, Crescent Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Home and Lennar. The houses vary in price from the low $300,000s to the high $400,000s.
Town house and estate lots began construction in late summer 2017 and will also vary in price. The town houses will remain at a lower range than normal homes, and the estate lots will be available for a more custom build and will be a higher cost.
There is also a large community area for events and 3 miles of trails for walking, running or hiking.
Lacey Edwards, the development’s lifestyle director, coordinates Durham Farm events and has been very successful in getting the residents involved in their new community.
“Lacy does a great job of connecting neighbors and making everyone feel like they are part of a connected community,” Taylor Davis, marketing manager for Freehold Communities, the developing firm behind Durham Farms, says.
Taylor also says the marketing strategy has developed since the opening. She says they want to promote “the lifestyle and healthy living aspect” of the community because “we believe that is what sets us apart from all the other Nashville communities.”
Freehold Communities shares on their website that “Durham Farms combines the best of small-town living with state-of-the-art amenities and access to the phenomenal schools, health care and entertainment of the Nashville metropolitan area.”
