Master Custom Builders Council Donates to YMCA ABC Program
The Master Custom Builders Council presented a check for $15,000 to the Sumner County Family YMCA’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) program on Oct. 25. The check represented the proceeds of the annual Charity Tour of Homes event that was held in late September.
The check presentation took place at the Sumner County Family YMCA, located at 102 Bluegrass Commons Blvd. in Hendersonville.
The Art of Chip Boles on Display at Vol State
The work of Nashville artist Chip Boles is currently on display at the Volunteer State Community College Art Gallery. Chip creates drawings in graphite and charcoal on wood panels. He is also a muralist for the Nashville Children’s Theatre. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
The show opened on Nov. 12, and it will continue through Dec. 13. The free exhibit is located in Vol State’s Steinhauer-Rogan-Black Humanities Building. For more information, call 615.230.3202.
Vol State Kick -Off Math and Science Building Renovation
Volunteer State Community College held a groundbreaking ceremony for a $6.2 million renovation of the J. Howard Warf Math and Science Building on Oct. 19. The project will update all existing science labs and add two additional labs. The renovation will provide 6,000 square feet in new space. A portion of the expanded area will be used for a new Mechatronics lab.
